Why do I need treatments?
As your body gets overloaded with toxins you become more prone to illness.
Colon Hydrotherapy aids the body in removal of these toxins promoting greater vitality, healthier skin and hair, a more efficient immune system and natural weight loss.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of colonic irrigation can often be seen after your first treatment.
You can expect improved bowel function, clearer skin, more mental clarity
and fewer headaches.
Circulatory, immune, inflammatory and weight problems can also often improve
with colonic treatments particularly in conjunction with recommended diet
and lifestyle changes. After treatment the bowel is able to absorb nutrients
more effectively and less likely to absorb damaging enterotoxins.
Conditions that may benefit from colonic therapy include:
Allergies
Arthritis
Asthma
Atonic (sluggish) colon
Bloating
Candida
Colitis in remission
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Diverticulosis (i.e Diverticulitis in remission)
Flatulence
Haemorrhoids
Headache, toxic
Halitosis
IBS
Indigestion
Leaky gut
Lethargy
Mucous colitis
Parasitic infections
Skin problems: eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, etc.
Urinary urgency in females.
Are there circumstances where colonic therapy should not be performed?
Yes. Conditions such as active infections, active inflammation (such as
diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), a painful fissure
or painful haemorrhoids mean treatment cannot be comfortably carried out
until they are healed or in remission.
Diseases such as congestive heart disease, severe uncontrolled hypertension,
severe anaemia, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, severe haemorrhaging and
colo-rectal carcinoma are also absolute contra-indications for treatment
as are some physical conditions such as severe abdominal or inguinal hernias
which cannot be easily reduced.
Treatments are also not performed during the first three months of pregnancy and not at all during complicated pregnancies.
What happens at a treatment?
Before treatment begins your practitioner will explain the procedure
and discuss any relevant medical history. You will then be asked to remove
the bottom half of your clothing and wear a towel provided by the practitioner,
after which you will be invited to lay on the treatment table where warm
purified water will be introduced into the colon via a small (1.5 inch in
length) disposal tube in the rectum (your modesty is preserved at all times).
The practitioner will apply massage techniques during the treatment to help
stimulate the release of stored faecal matter and toxins that have built
up over time and adhered to the colon wall and which were not eliminated
during normal bowel movements.
The treatment can take from 45 minutes to 1 hour. For your safety, only
sterile disposable pre-packed products are used and waste is washed away
in sterile tubing. Relaxing music is played throughout the treatment though you are very welcome to bring along your own CD if you wish.
How many treatments will I need?
The benefits of colonic irrigation can often be seen after your first treatment
but it can take up to 3 visits before you really start to notice a difference.
Waste matter and toxins are built up over a number of years so we recommend
a short course of treatments and, once colonic health is fully restored, to
maintain health with regular treatments.
How will I feel after a treatment?
In short, great! Although every client is different you can expect to feel
more relaxed and experience a real sense of well being. Almost immediately
you will experience better digestion, regular bowel movements, less heartburn,
improved sleep and clearer skin, whilst restored energy levels are commonly reported.
Some people say they have not felt as good for years.
