Allergy testing

Allergy testing

Due to popular demand AquahealthUK now offers a full onsite allergy testing service.

The system we use is known as a VEGA. It works by stimulating the presence of potential allergens within the body and measuring the patients response. The technique was pioneered by Dr. Reinhard Voll, a German physician during the 1950′s. Voll found that by stimulating the bodies acupuncture points and reading the results, it was possible to build a picture of a patients physiological response to biological and environmental elements. This style of non-invasive bio-feedback is proving to be increasingly popular as the test can be conducted entirely onsite without the need to take blood or send results away for analysis.

AquahealthUK use the latest German made machines which allow us to diagnose intolerance which can lead to headaches, IBS, low energy, bloating, nausea, constipation, aching joints, eczema or dry skin, catarrh and general fatigue.

The tests are conducted at the clinic where you will receive a full consultation following the completion of the test. You will also be advised of any changes you need to make to your diet or any dietary supplements that you need to take.

How much will it cost?

Alergy testing cost £55.00 and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes
Is the test suitable for everyone?

The test is not suitable for very young children who are still weaning or for patients who have pacemakers fitted. Prescription medication will not effect the test.

How many test will I require?

Usually one test can give you all the information you need to get started on better health. If you are able to follow the advise given during the initial consultation your symptoms may clear up quickly. We do, however, advise that if you are required to eliminate certain foods from your diet that you are retested to monitor how your body is coping with those changes. Sometimes dietary supplements may be required while your body goes through a period readjustment but this will be discussed with you fully at the clinic.

The Test Process

The test itself is gentle and non-invasive. The patient holds an electrode in one hand that is connected to the testing equipment, while a probe held by the practitioner is placed on acupuncture pressure points on the hands or feet. The test equipment simulates the presence of the potential allergens and measures the bodies response. This allows the practitioner to build up a detailed profile of the patients tolerance to certain food groups of substances. This process takes between 45 minutes and an hour.
